Vote Yes on Prop 407
It’s time to give Tucson’s local parks the care they need after the ten long years since the recession hit. We can have more shade, more bike and walking trails, and more pools and splash pads.
Sustainability Matters. We can conserve water, reduce waste and use more efficient lighting.
No New Taxes. We will raise the money to pay for this by retiring old bond debt to keep tax assessments stable at current levels.
And look what we’ll get:
Walking trail loops around neighborhood and community parks
Upgraded air conditioning at the Armory Park Senior Center
Renovated and new ramadas across the City for family events
New shade structures and trees in the parks, with 13 renovated playgrounds
Swimming pool upgrades and 21 new splash pads
Walkway and bikeway connections throughout the City
Softball field improvements with lighting for softball leagues—including seniors leagues
22 pickleball courts
More than 17 miles of off-street greenways for walkers and cyclists
120+ miles of new sidewalks, low stress bikeways and shared-use paths, including landscaping
Prop 407 creates a Citizens Bond Oversight Commission whose job is to assure that the revenue raised is spent specifically on the projects as provided by the plan given to voters, on schedule and within budget. This commission will hold public meetings to report to the public on the progress and results of bond projects.
